After the rain
Today I took Tiki to "smell roses" - approach which was recommended by young horse trainer Bob McLoud. Belive it or not Tiki really liked it. We went around the area on the lead line with the saddle which allowed Tiki to understand one more time that I am the "lead mare". We went to check on Lamas and stopped by the cows. She got thrilled by lamas and didn`t care for cows much. Barking dogs didn`t surprise her much since she has plenty of those at the house.
Did I mention that we found our baby Niki laying in the middle of driveway, far remote from her pasture. She was sleeping flat on the pavement which of course worried her Mother Sophie. She just stood by that traveling baby with the head down. Children, trouble, nice day, plenty of hay... Who knows what Sophie was day dreaming about but she looked very happy and content even with that baby gone. Nikki is her first baby in her eleven years of being the race horse so even sportsmen learn how to handle it with the pride. Sophie I think is the best mom I have seen so far in horses. She is pushy but fair. She loves her baby which you can see confronts her personality, she has to give it up. And the baby knows... Sophie mama... I love you. She comes around and asks for that milk. Pictures to follow.
